Associate Director, Taxation
Rajesh is the Associate Director In- charge of the Taxation Services. He has over 17 years of experience of which the last 14 years have been in Botswana and in Tax

Experience
Rajesh got qualified as a Chartered Accountant in May 1994.He continued to work as an audit assistant at N C Rajagopal & Co., gaining experience in taxation services in India.

He spent his first 2 years after qualifying in the non banking sector in India and the next 2 years in international textile trading company in Singapore. He gained vast experience in dealing with foreign currency markets whilst in Singapore.

His passion towards taxation and practice made him come to Botswana in February 1998 and take up employment with PKF Gaborone. He was soon made a partner in charge of taxation services in June 2004. Due to their relatively small operations and his thirst to greater exposure made him turn to Grant Thornton. He has been with Grant Thornton from September 2007.

Sector experience
Rajesh has been dealing with taxation and tax consultancy for multi-sector clients in Botswana. He Specializes in the Tourism, Consumer Products and Construction Industry. He has vast experience in tax planning, both domestic and international, for corporate and individuals. Rajesh is also involved in the restructuring of big businesses in Botswana trying to achieve economies of scale in operations.

He is currently a very active member in the Tax committee of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is also involved in action group that liaises with the Botswana Unified Revenue Service on a regular basis.

Professional qualifications, memberships and education

• Rajesh is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India
• Fellow member of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants.
• He holds a bachelor degree in Commerce from the University of Madras, India.
• He has been ranked first in the tax examination conducted by the Botswana Institute of Accountants.

Community involvement
He actively participates in social events and charity organisations.
