Partner, audit assurance
Aswin is a partner with more than 13 years experience in advising growth companies and their stakeholders on audit, IFRS compliance, tax and financial matters. He focuses on assurance services to listed and closely held companies.

Experience
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Aswin continued to work as an audit assistant at B.P. Jain &Co where he gainined experience in statutory and internal audits. His passion for the auditing profession and seeking international exposure brought Aswin to Botswana . Aswin joined Grant Thornton in July 1998. In recognition of his skills and achievements, he was promoted as Branch manager in June 2002. Since April 2007 he has been in the audit division of the firm as Senior Manager and got promoted as a Partner from 1 January 2008. He has attended various training courses in Grant Thornton's audit methodology, IFRS and soft skills.

Sector experience
Aswin has a vast audit client base of mid market businesses. Aswin specialise in privately held business and dynamic businesses and organisations. His industry experience ranges from property portfolio, mining, exploration, diamond cutting, advertising and retail. Being a branch manager has given him exposure to gain expertise in PHB group taxation, Value Added Tax and business consultancy. He also performs Information Technology (IT) audit

• ACA – Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India
• FCA – Fellow Member of Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants
• ISACA - Member of Information Systems Audit and Control Association
• B.Com - Bachelor of Commerce degree holder from the University of Madras, India.
• Honorary Member of the Training and Professional Education committee of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants.
• Member of Regulatory Working Group of Grant Thornton International.
• He is also involved in various training programmes within Grant Thornton.

Community involvement
He is involved in various charitable and religious organisations and participates in community projects & corporate social responsibility projects of Grant Thornton.
